It’s a jungle out there...
Cozumel Country Club is the first and only golf course on the Mexican Caribbean island of Cozumel. The 18 hole golf course was designed by Steve Nicklaus, of the Nicklaus Design Group. Cozumel Country Club is located in the northern Hotel Zone of the island.
The golf course is cut through the native vegetation of the island and was built under strict environment guidelines from the Mexican Government. The Club has integrated itself into the local community by continuing to maintain environmental standards and by participating in Environmental Educational programs for community youth. Cozumel Country Club is home to a variety of flora and fauna and is also the first golf course in Mexico to achieve certification as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
It is a 10 minute drive from the International Airport and 15 to 20 minutes from the cruise ship piers. The island of Cozumel`s first golf course is also one of the best tests of golf in the Rivera Maya.
Upon arrival, golfers will find the rustic looking native palapa-style club house.Under the grass roof are the amenities found at most courses.
The golf shop houses the latest in golf merchandise. TaylorMade and Nike rental clubs are available for golfers who arrive without their equipment.
The practice area features a putting green as well as chipping green with a practice bunker.
The wide, two-tiered practice tee allows plenty of room for practice or just warm up.
The Nicklaus Design Group has successfully balanced the strict requirements of building a first-class golf course within the delicate ecosystem of the surrounding mangroves, marshlands and tropical rainforest. The golf course is home to blue crabs, iguanas, crocodiles, raccoons and a multitude of species of birds as well as other wildlife which call this habitat home.
Four sets of tees allow golfers of all skill levels to enjoy their round of golf as well as the peace and quiet of the natural surroundings and Cozumel Country Club also offers an additional option - The FASTEE COURSE™! One of only two in Mexico, Measuring 3,219, The FASTEE COURSE™ , is perfect for juniors, seniors and beginners.
