TAI CHI

Tai Chi merges in China during XVI Century; it is the combination of martial arts and the Taoist philosophy of Ying & Yang, as well as its breathing method that strengthened health that result in a very powerful martial art with health benefits.
Exist several families and styles of Tai Chi, such as Chen, Yang, Wu & Sung, (among the most well known). The practices were done in the family and they were very jealous in the transmission of their secrets. But Yang changes this idea and dedicates himself to teach this art to any person who would be interested.
After Chinese Revolution, the martial arts stop being important self-defense methods, due to the apparition of new different weapons. In this way Tai Chi begins to be more an art for longevity, relaxation and health. Thanks to its breathing method and the management of energy, Tai Chi practiced constantly and for a long period gets to result very benefic for health and spirit.

Tai Chi essence is to avoid the use of the muscle power; instead of this, it uses the energy named “Chi”.
When you practice Tai Chi it is necessary to have flexibility in the joints, the mind in peace, the heart tranquil, and sensibility in the movement, use of a smooth and deep breathing and finally balance in the body.

It is necessary the use of the body, mind and spirit. The movement must be performed with a minimum effort and without using the muscular power.

The type of Tai Chi I practice is from the Wu family, (the most well known and practiced in Occident is the short form Yang). The “Kati” (form) Wu has 108 movements and takes many years of practice to learn it. First you memorize the form that is like learning like a dance choreography; it is in this step where you exercise the memory and the coordination. Once you learn the form, then you can start to practice the breathing and all the multiple details, such as to have a full side and an empty side, let the movement go from the “Dantien”, (point localized 4 fingers down the belly button, where the energy Chi is accumulated), between other points.

Health is improved, due to the whole body relaxation and the smooth and deep breathing, provoking this way that energy circulates better and through all organs, improving this way also their functioning.

While human being gets old also gets hard, this brings as consequences many illness, as well as muscular tension. Tai Chi promotes the soft and smooth movement, giving this way more flexibility and looseness to the body, helping this way that energy circulates in a better way and eliminating the muscular tensions.

In the project to teach Tai Chi for the hotel guests, is not included the complete form but teaching them Relaxation exercises, Chi Kung, which are static and repetitive movements, very good for health. A Tai Chi floor routine, breathing exercises and some movements fro the “Kati”

The objective for the guests is that after an hour of training they feel more relaxed and happy.
